Pool losing water and you cannot see where?
Topping the pool up every few days? Ground or terrace always damp? Water bill creeping up? A pool can lose thousands of litres a month through a leak you cannot see. First we confirm it really is a leak and not evaporation, then we locate it without breaking anything blindly.
The most common leaks in Mallorca are in skimmers, underwater lights, return fittings and the buried pipes between the pool and the pump room. We pressure-test each pipe run separately, use dye and listening equipment on the shell, and open only at the exact spot.
Pool leak detection without draining
Pressure testing: we isolate each pipe run and pressurise it with air or water. If the pressure drops, that run is leaking, and we narrow down the exact section with tracer gas or electronic listening.
Dye testing: dye released next to the skimmers, returns, light and main drain follows the water and shows the exact point where it escapes.
Electronic listening and underwater camera: listening equipment picks up water escaping through a buried pipe, and a submersible camera lets us check seals, cracks and fittings without emptying the pool.
Pool pipe and plumbing repair
The pipes between the pool and the pump room (returns, suction and drain lines) can crack from ground settlement, roots or excess pressure. Once the leaking section is located, we open only at that point, replace the damaged length and pressure-test the whole circuit again before closing, so you know it is watertight.
Skimmers, returns, lights and main drain
Most leaks we find in Mallorca are at the joint where a fitting meets the shell: the skimmer seal, the return fittings, the niche and conduit of the underwater light, or the main drain seal and cover. We reseal them with underwater materials, usually without draining.
Concrete pool leak repair
Sprayed-concrete (gunite) pools are the most common type on the island. Their weak points are the joints between the shell and the fittings, cracks from settlement and porous concrete. We locate cracks with dye and repair them with underwater epoxy resins. We also repair fibreglass and mosaic-tiled pools.

How do I know if my pool is leaking or just evaporating?
Do the bucket test: fill a bucket, stand it on a pool step and mark both water levels. After 24-48 hours, if the pool has dropped noticeably more than the bucket, it is a leak. In a Mallorcan summer, evaporation alone can be 3-5 mm a day.
Do you have to drain the pool to find the leak?
Almost never. We test the pipework with pressure tests, check skimmers, lights and return fittings, and work on the shell with dye and listening equipment. The pool usually stays full while we work.
The leak is in a buried pipe. Does the whole terrace have to come up?
Only the exact spot. We pressure-test each pipe run separately to isolate the section, locate the point with tracer gas or acoustics, and open just that area.

Do you do swimming pool pipe repair, or only the shell?
Both. Most pool leaks in Mallorca are not in the shell at all — they are in the buried suction and return pipework, in the skimmer, or at a through-wall fitting. We repair the affected pipe run and pressure-test the system again before closing anything up.
Is this pool plumbing repair as well, or just leak detection?
Both. We are plumbers, not just leak locators. We find the leak and we carry out the repair: buried pipework, skimmers, return fittings, valves and the pump room. One trade, one invoice, no waiting for someone else to come and do the second half.
My pool pump is losing water or will not prime. Is that a leak?
It can be, and it is easily missed because the water evaporates in the plant room without leaving a mark. We check the pump seal, the strainer lid, the filter unions and the valves. If the pump will not prime, air is almost always getting in on the suction side.
